Think Spring

Amy Stalp

When was the last time you were inspired to sew? Did you need a gift for a special event or just an activity to fill a Saturday? I was inspired by snow—lots of snow! I live outside of Denver, CO. During the holidays two huge blizzards brought over two feet of snow and I was snowed in. I had nothing to do but contemplate how many projects I could finish before the big melt ... and my mind went into overdrive. I sewed every day for hours ... it was marathon sewing at its finest. So much snow, so much fabric, so many projects. I was working on this issue at the time, so you'll see the results in these pages. All that snow really made me ready for spring!

What motivates you to crank out a project? Drop me a line and tell me what works you up into a sewing frenzy. See what gets our writers going on the next page.

We've packed this issue with projects and ideas to inspire you. Look through and see what catches your eye: a new jacket (page 58), a funky satchel (page 82), a quilted throw (page 62), pet-themed picture frames (page 78) and more.

I hope this gets you stitching and brings a year full of marathon-sewing days, even if the weather forecast is sunny and mild.
